1 Environmental temperature control

Take measures to prevent cold in the air compressor room and maintain the temperature of the air compressor room above zero degrees Celsius; Outdoor pipelines, valves, etc. should be protected against freezing, and heating equipment can be equipped if conditions permit.

 

2 Precautions for starting air compressors in winter

a. Power on operation

When starting the screw air compressor in the morning, be sure to preheat the machine. Because the viscosity of lubricating oil increases at low temperatures, a high viscosity at low temperatures will reduce the oil filtration capacity, resulting in a small oil volume in the compression chamber of the micro oil compressor during the initial start-up stage, which may cause a series of problems. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the status of the lubrication system. Method: When starting the air compressor, press the start button and wait for the compressor to run for 3-5 seconds before pressing the stop button. After the air compressor stops for 2-3 minutes (preferably with a 2-3 minute interval as there is internal pressure in the tank), let the air compressor run for 3-5 seconds and press the stop button. At an ambient temperature of 0 , repeat the above steps 2-3 times; If the ambient temperature is below -10 , repeat the above steps 3-5 times.

Prevent low temperature and high viscosity of lubricating oil from causing poor lubrication of the air compressor host, resulting in dry grinding of the host, damage or jamming of the host (head, air end), increasing the current of the frequency converter, and causing OC/OL situations!

It is recommended to use original lubricating oil and increase the frequency of oil filter replacement in low temperature environments. After a long-term shutdown and starting in a low-temperature environment, the oil filter should be replaced.

Before starting the micro oil air compressor equipped with a heat recovery system, the oil circuit valve connected to the heat recovery system should be cut off; After the compressor is loaded normally, open the valve and switch to the heat recovery state.

 Check if the oil level is normal and add lubricating oil if necessary.

 For water-cooled units, check the water cooler to ensure smooth water flow and no leaks.

 For centrifugal compressors, check the operating current and adjust the maximum load setting point if necessary to avoid long-term operation of the equipment at maximum load, which may cause motor overload damage.

 

b. Operation after shutdown

 After the system shuts down from a high-temperature operating state, the gas in the compression chamber, pipelines, and gas storage tanks will precipitate a large amount of condensate in the low-temperature environment. To prevent condensate from freezing and blocking the system or even cracking components in extremely low temperature environments, it is necessary to promptly discharge the condensate from the compression chamber, pipelines, and air storage tanks when the system temperature drops to the ambient temperature.

For water-cooled units, if there may be extremely low temperature conditions after shutdown, the remaining cooling water in the compressor water cooler should be drained and the inlet and outlet water valves should be closed; If necessary, compressed air should be used to blow and evacuate to avoid freezing and causing expansion and cracking of the cooling pipe.
